Sustainability

At Axroma we have always been committed to minimize our ecological footprint. Following a whole-lifecycle approach, we examine the ecological impact at every stage of the value chain – from product design, fiber production and fabrics manufacturing to the reuse and regeneration of resources. Covering all these activities in-house we can leverage our extensive expertise and innovative technologies to minimize environmental impacts throughout the complete lifecycle of our products.

Lowering CO2

With our commitment to sustainable manufacturing, we use energy-saving, low-pollution methods of producing and dyeing fabrics. Axroma Outdoor Performance Fabrics are made from Olefin, a material known for its high durability and water resistance. Olefin can be processed by waterless solution-dyed extrusion, eliminating the need for any immersion of the material in a dye bath.  Olefin also allows for low spinning temperatures, reducing energy consumption and lowering CO2 emissions.

From ocean plastic waste to high-quality fabrics

With our extensive manufacturing expertise, we know how to produce high-quality outdoor fabrics even from recycled materials based on plastic waste. In cooperation with Social Enterprises, we are focused on preventing ocean plastic pollutions and maximizing the use of certified ocean-bound materials in new products. Our partners Ocean Cycle and Ocean Materials supply recycled Polypropylene from fishing gear that is sorted, cleaned, filtered and pellet granulated. From this certified recycled material gathered from the ocean, we create PFC-free Olefin yarns and transform them into colorfast, water and stain repellent fabrics with high durability.
